Barns
We have 4 barns here at Cordelia Acres. Two are for horses, one is general purpose and the last houses the dairy. Our horse barns are not as large as some, nor are they as large as they could be. But our horses are kept pastured the majority of the time. Plenty of shelter is provided by trees and sheds, and horses are provided with fresh feed and water. The Dairy is closest to the house for easy access for milking, and the general use barn shares a paddock fence with the dairy. In the front but off to one side, a litter farther, but still within sight from the house, is the main stable. On the other side of the house, away from the other horse areas, is the breeding barn.
Main Stable
Those horses frequently shown and those in heavy training are kept in this ten stall barn with attached arena.
Breeding Shed / Stud Row
This small stable is used for our breeding horses part-time. Mares are brought in close to foaling to be monitored. While breeding studs are kept in stud row only during breeding season (Jan - April).
